Guiding Right, Inc. Offers Job Readiness Sessions

Guiding Right, Inc. (GRI) has partnered with Next Level Career Coaches (NLCC) to offer a series of job readiness workshops. COVID has taught us that health impacts our bank account, and we want to equip our community with
information and resources to land employment opportunities.

The first workshop, led by NLCC founder V. Renee Brooks, will focus on job readiness. It is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, January 21, Midwest City Regional Library, 8143 E Reno Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73110.

GRI, a social justice-oriented, Black-focused, public health community-based organization, recognizes that despite seeing “now hiring” signs it may be difficult to land a job. GRI’s mission is to improve access to healthcare, supportive services, and systems that improve the quality of life among Black and other marginalized populations in Oklahoma.

According to Theodore Noel, Chief Executive Officer, GRI, this series of workshops is important to GRI as we work to address public health issues. “Being unemployed can impact the very health outcomes that we are addressing,” Noel stated. “COVID highlighted that fact for people of color especially.”

The job readiness workshops are designed to empower participants with knowledge, tools, and skills to navigate through the job market. Additional monthly workshops are planned for February through May.
